Structure and Mandate

Nzoia Sugar Company (NSC) Ltd is run by a Board of Directors headed by the Chairman. The Managing Director assisted by a management team oversee the daily operations of the Company.The company has 12 departments, namely; Agriculture, Agriculture Services, Human Resource, Purchasing, Information Communication Technology, Finance, General Administration, Sales & Marketing, Production, Internal Audit, Public Relations and Factory.

To provide information technology services to all departments and other support functions to enable them serve stakeholders in a cost-effective and efficient manner, by managing the computer network and central data processing operations, data security and integrity, Hardware Infrastructure and software upgrade, telecommunications and wide-area networking, client/server application development, and electronic forms processing.

General Administration Department

To coordinate and offer stewardship to  the company’s business, administrative response to emerging policy and development initiatives and undertaking effective and efficient coordination of the company’s programmes and activities for enhanced service delivery.

Internal Audit Department

To provide an opinion to the Board of Directors via the Audit Committee, on risk management, control and governance, by measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of these controls and systems in achieving the company’s agreed objectives.

Purchasing Department

To timely procure quality goods and services for the company. The department is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that procurement and disposal of goods, works and services is conducted in a manner consistent with the provisions of the public procurement and disposal Act 2007 and the public procurement and disposal regulations 2006.

Public Relations Department

To promote positive corporate image, execute and coordinate public relations activities of the company and facilitate effective communication between the company and its stakeholders.

Sales and Marketing Department

We are building Nzoia sugar as a strong brand with high appeal in all consumer segments. Our distributorship covers the following areas:

  • Western and Lake region:-
    –    Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Mt.Elgon, Kisumu, Bondo, Maseno.
  • North Rift region:-
    –    Eldoret, Kitale, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kapengria, lodwar.
  • South Rift region:-
    –    Nakuru, Kericho, Narok, Kapsabet .
  • Nairobi and Central region:-
    –    Nairobi city, Naivasha, Nanyuki, Nyeri .

Finance Department

To identify profitable investment opportunities and ensure that financial resources of the company are managed efficiently.

Human Resource Department

To produce adequate skilled manpower, develop and nurture talents by facilitating development of motivational and rewarding systems that retain a loyal staff base and guarantees high performance with a view to enhancing productivity besides creating harmonious working relationship.

Production Department

To efficiently produce quality sugar and co-products that meet customer and regulatory requirements in a clean and safe environment.

Agricultural services Department

To harvest and transport quality cane that meets factory requirements, rehabilitate road network and maintain company vehicles and agricultural machinery.
