Nzoia Sugar Company hosted The Webuye Hospital Staff for a three day Medical Camp from Tuesday 1st October to Wednesday 2nd October 2024, at the Company’s Clinic.
The importance of the medical camp was to enable Nzoia Sugar Company workers and the people from the Company’s environs to access free and right medication for diseases such as malaria, blood pressure, diabetes, dental care among others.
Services offered at the triage included testing for Blood Pressure, weight, Laboratory services, Guidance and Counselling. Prescription by the Medical Doctors.
Clinical Doctors and nurses encouraged everyone to get tested for different diseases including know their HIV status.
They also spoke about chronic diseases like cancer that has become a life threatening to many people, and advised employee’s to undergo screening at least twice per year .because screening can help spot cancers at early stages.
The Webuye Hospital also had an opportunity to educate employees about the Social Health Assurance (SHA) medical scheme and also encouraged them to seek outpatient treatment from their facility using the scheme.
