NZOIA SUGAR HOSTS WOULD-BE INVESTORS

A group of investors following on a brief about Nzoia Sugar Company

Nzoia Sugar Company hosted potential investors on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 after the Government put up five sugar millers for a 20 year lease in mid-January 2024 in an advert published by the Ministry of Agriculture.

 

Nzoia Sugar Company, South Nyanza Sugar Company, Chemelil Sugar Company, Muhoroni Sugar Company (in receivership), and Miwani Sugar Company (in receivership) were the companies put up for lease by the Ministry of Agriculture.

 

The Potential investors’ intention was to collect data and view Company owned assets with their main focus on the factory plant, Nucleus Estate farm, equipment, machinery and Human Resource Capacity among other topics of interest.

 

Afterwards, the investors were taken to a tour of the business premises. The Nucleus Estate, the Factory plant, the Nzoia Group of Schools, the Company staff quarters, the Field workshop and the Company Guest House were a few of the locations that were visited.

 

The prospective investors, included prominent sugar companies such as Transmara Sugar, Butali Sugar, Kakira, West Kenya, Sukari Industry, and Kibos Sugar among others.

 

The millers’ factories, offices, equipment, nucleus estate farms, staff and guest houses, sports stadiums, Schools, and service contractor yards will all be under the jurisdiction of the winning bidder.
