The Cabinet Secretaries for Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Hon. Peter Munya and Devolution Hon. Eugene Wamalwa paid a visit at Nzoia Sugar Company on 8th November 2021.

The aim of the visit was to hand over a cheque worth 500 million to clear part of pending farmers arrears and enable the factory carry out annual maintenance.

Speaking to farmers and employees, Hon. Munya said that the Government was so concerned about farmers and was seeking to improve the living standards of those who depended on sugarcane farming as a source of income.

The sentiments were echoed by Devolution CS Hon. Eugene Wamalwa who assured farmers that the National Government was committed towards enhancing sugarcane farming in the entire County since it is a major contributor in terms of the country’s economy at large.

Present during the visit were; Bungoma County Governor Hon. Wycliffe Wangamati, Kanduyi MP Hon. Wafula, Wamunyinyi, Kabuchai MP Hon. Majimbo Kalasinga, Kimilili MP. Hon.Didmus Barasa among other dignitaries.
