NSC MANAGING DIRECTOR MEETS FARMERS FROM SOUTHERN REGION

Nzoia Sugar Company’s Managing Director Dr. Chrispine O. Ogutu held his first outdoor meeting with farmers at Mwibale Chief’s Center which is in the Southern region of our outgrowers’ zone on 17th February 2022.

This is in line with the Company’s plan to meet all stakeholder groups in a bid to
foster good stakeholder relationships. Speaking during the event, Dr. Ogutu
urged farmers to continue being patient with the Company since the management
is working tirelessly to put in place strategies to ensure all farmers’ arrears
are cleared.

He also assured farmers that the Company’s financial state will improve greatly
after an overhaul factory maintenance scheduled for April 2022 is conducted.

The Managing Director also mentioned that he is a very transparent person who has
worked in the public sector for over 32 years and urged farmers to give him a
chance to prove his worth.

In attendance was the Management team, Field Officers, Public Relations team, area
Chief, Assistance Chief, Village administrators and farmers from Mwibale and Kimugui sub locations. Similar meetings have also been scheduled in Northern, Western and Eastern regions of our outgrowers’ zone.

It’s now 7 months still we farmers have not been paid since last year 2021. We are very disappointed. Am planning to just plant trees in my farm due to the losses I have incurred factoring the rise of inflation rate.
