Nzoia Sugar football club registered a 1-0 win over visiting Vihiga United FC in a Kenyan Premier League match that was staged at Sudi stadium on Thursday 11th April 2019.
The game was balanced in the first half but Nzoia Sugar FC took the lead in the 46th minute. The solitary goal was scored by Collins Wakhungu after connecting Dennis Wanjala’s cross.
The visitors got a chance in the 87th minute through Masinza Chris, who shot but the efforts to equalise were futile as the Nzoia backline blocked it out for a corner which yielded no fruit.
The head Coach Mr. Vincent Sifuma lauded the lad for the win and urged them to work more hard in the remaining matches.
The sentiments were echoed by the club Chairman Mr. Ngisa Mokua who promised to support them fully after they had carried all the three important points at home.
The team currently is at position 10 with 28 point and will be facing Mathare United FC at Kasarani stadium on Wednesday 17th April 2019.
