Industrial Attachment/Internship

We offer industrial attachment to students undergoing various courses at various levels of study through the recommendation of their institutions.  We have a section under the Human Resources Department that deals with this and other training functions in the organization.
The Registered institution of learning applies for a placement position on behalf of the student to the Training Officer. The training officer prepares a long list before short listing the students as per their qualifications and per the capacity the company can handle.
Once a student is selected for industrial attachment in any of our departments or sections, he receives a letter of appointment. The student visits our training section to fill certain forms. Below are some of the required forms.
•    Indemnity form – General regulations of contract during Attachment period.
•    Industrial attachment contract for purpose of approval of DIT.
A student is then allocated an identification number for use during his attachment period.  A Training officer hands over the student to his/ her various areas of placement

Students undertaking engineering courses are required to have safety shoes, a dust coat, an overall and a helmet before they commence their attachment.

We offer industrial attachment for a minimum period of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months.

Progress monitoring

The responsible department prepares a program for the student to enable him rotate to the various areas of section as he learns. A supervisor is assigned to train the student though his/her attachment period.
During attachment, both the training section and the supervisor of the department monitor the progress of the student.
Students are required to fill in their log books every two weeks. After the attachment period the student is expected to prepare a report. After handing over a report to the section the student receives a recommendation letter from the company.
NOTE:  In the event that the student fails to present a report, he is not offered a recommendation latter.
